Dear January, month of renovations!

...this is THE Couch...beastly piece of furniture. I mean HUGE! Only took us half a day to get it out of the garage and into the house, trying to fit it through three sets of doors. Lordy! Solid as a rock, made of oak, seats four comfortably, 95 inches long, not counting the curve.
 Pretty spectacular, eh?
Found it on the street of Toronto, about SEVEN years ago, and this year I am going to re-upholster it.
I have been gearing up for this task, reading tutorials, books, hunting for tools and supplies. I am telling you, THIS year is the year. Besides it is taking over the dining room now, so, it is going to get done fast, and out of there. ...it is already driving me crazy. HA!
What is your pet project?

  1. Wow! You found that free on the street?
Awesome project, I've had in the back of my mind to try reupholstering someday but would start with something small! I have made my headboard but the buttoning part is on hold.
So what colour, fabric will it be?

  2. we really did, and walked 3 long blocks caring the couch home.
I did chairs before, but never anything this big.(-: I will not be doing the buttons, tho, just plain smooth. The fabric is in the picture. I am pretty exited to finally work up the nerve.
