making beer, Dark Amber Ale and Czech Budejovice Lager, it is finally here, long time dream come true.

long term plans

 I have planted hops this spring, setting them up as a decorative fence. The strain is called "Sterling", the closest  North American kind to Czech "Saaz". I will make beer out of these in the fall, I have promised to myself. I got them here, for anyone interested.

edibles are waking up too

most of the perennial edibles survived the witch of a winter and are waking up. Even the blueberry bushes that got ravaged by deer (yes a deer) seem to be recovering.
